This is a clay-headed version of my popular Desert Cottontail. This doll is smaller than the all-cloth dolls, but has just as much personality. I sculpted the head, hands and feet and the heads are glazed to match the color of the real rabbits. This rabbit is wearing a simple jacket custom printed with a botanical print featuring the prickly native plants of the Sonoran Desert. Cottontails are found throughout the arid regions of the southwestern North America and are related to those found in other parts of North America. Most desert predators eat cottontails, and they make up for continuous population loss by reproducing up to five times a year. If startled or chased, they may freeze or zig-zag away. More athletic than other rabbits, desert cottontails will swim and climb trees to avoid predation.
